Sympathy Card

Today's card is using the Watercolor Wonder DSP over a piece of Island indigo on a Whisper White card base. I also used a strip of the same DSP but the opposite side over a strip on Island Indigo. I wrapped a piece of the new Gold Baker's Twin(in the new Occasions catalog)e over the strips before I adhered them. Stamped my greeting from the Petite Pairs stamp set form the big catalog onto whisper white, stamped over it using the watercolor mark from the Happy Watercolor stamp set and punched it out using my 1 3./4" circle punch. I then punched a piece of Island Indigo using my 2 1/2 " circle punch and adhered the circles with dimensionals. My last and final touch was the regals candy dots I added at the  bottom of my greeting. I hope you like my simple heartfelt card. Thanks for stopping in. Christa

Fun Pencil Tops Using DSP

Today I wanted to shows you something fun! I cut a piece of DSP using my multipurpose cutter then used the new Fringe Scissors from the Ocassions catalog to cut my "fringe". I then added sticky strip to the top. Peeled it off and started wrapping it around my pencil. When I got to the last part, I added Washi tape and"fluffed" my fringe. Duct Tape Flowers

 So, Kathryn came home about 2 weeks ago and said she wanted to participate in a Duct Tape contest in school through the Library...well, I was skeptical at first. I had heard and seen many projects made by using duct tape but thought it may be too hard or too messy. So I went out and bought her some...AC Moore had a sale, buy 3 large rolls for $10.00. I couldn't go wrong, they have so many beautiful colors and designs!  I brought them home and she got to work....here is what she came up with.......

I was very proud of her and her creation. She made the flowers, vase(from old duct tape rolls), the bow on the front and the butterflies that are sitting on top of the flowers! I hope she does well in the contest!

Happy Watercolor

I think we need a sign of Spring....so here you go! My Happy card for this week! I started out with a whisper white card base and added a second layer with the Watercolor DSP from the Occasions catalog. I stamped my images in stazon ink, then stamped the background watercolor mark in  tangerine tango added my bakers twine and small pearls. There you have a simple but elegant card. Pinewood and Powder Puff Derby

Here is Nicholas and Kathryn's Pinewood and Powder Puff Derby cars for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. They worked so hard on their cars and really made them smooth with sand paper, then painted them with a little help from Daddy. Before we put the tire on we shined them up with some spray sealant! Nicholas' car has a driver, steering wheel and windshield.

Nicholas won the Bronze medal for his Wolf Den!

And Kathryn won Best Design overall out of 15 girls' cars! This is her Girl Scout buddy Kyra, she won Best Creative overall as well! Thanks for stopping in!

Terrarium

Today's post is a Terrarium that I will be making with my Boy Scout Wolf Den Meeting tonight. It was quite simple to make and didn't take long, it took longer to find the supplies in the middle of the winter, LOL. We first layered the bottom with pebbles/small rocks, then added a layer of sheet moss, then a layer of peat moss mixed with soil. We then cleaned out the roots of our 3 succulent plants, added them by digging a small hole..be careful with the cactus as they are pretty prickly. Add your fun embellishments, Kathryn added a Lego girl and cat and some larger rocks as a decoration. Be sure your bowl that you are using is cleaned with soapy water and dried thoroughly. Keep your terrarium in a lighted area but not direct sunlight. Spritz with water every few days and have fun enjoying your new creation! Thanks for stopping in. Christa

Happy Watercolor

My post today is a Happy Day card for my friend's birthday. I used the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set form the new Occasions Catalog and the Happy Day Stamp Set from page # 112 of the Big Catalog. I first started out with Pool Party card stock and stamped my image with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it using the Heat Tool and White Embossing Powder. I then used my Blender Pen with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky Ink to Blend in on my images. My final touch was a few pearls from the Basic Pearls, they are great, you can add them to any project and are self adhesive on the back! I hope you like and I hope my friend likes her card! Giggle Greetings

My Mom's birthday was January 2nd....she loves cats and has 10 of them, I know, yes, 10! Anyway, she will get a huge kick out of this card when she gets it. I used Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock. Black StazOn, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Crisp Cantaloupe ink. I sponged the whisper white piece to make the kitty pop and I used my blender pen to blend in the ink. My final touch was the Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon. I hope you like it, I am sure my Mom will!
